Through the deconstruction and alteration of Australian postcards from the 1970’s and 1980’s, Long Gone explores the methods by which postcards; now essentially obsolete, depict Australia in a performed and ideal manner. The postcard, which typically portrays historical moments, iconic and monumental structures is challenged by sanding away sections, isolating banal moments and de-monumentalising common Australian imagery.
